Taken with an old flip-phone.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is a new facility on Woodward Avenue in Pontiac, Michigan with a 1.5 mile track. The place is still very much under construction, with several phases yet to be completed.
But a track, a few garages, and an infield are all that’s needed to host this weekend’s !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which is as good an excuse as any to show off the site’s progress.
Dirt everywhere.
Lots of tires, though!
The infield, filled with vendors, entertainment and more.
Completed phase 1 garage next to a phase 2 skeleton
More phase 2 garages yet to be built
Another view of phase 2 construction site
Unfortunately, the track itself is rather disappointing. I’m afraid it’s just a simple oval, with no banking, zero elevation changes, and an artificial grass surface. Oh wait, no, that was the Hot Dog Pig Race track :

The view from turn 2
The “back” straight
Dachshunds in buns
PIGS... IN... A RACE!
And speaking of porky things going ’round a track...
Challenger Hellcat
The Charger’s a Hellcat too
Looks like Chrysler took the opportunity to be their fleet provider.
(At least) two ACR models to serve as pace cars!
Two more Vipers, GT models. No “M1 Concourse” labeling though. Maybe they’re not actually part of the fleet?
Some lucky guys had the fun job of driving around customers for $30 “hot laps”.
Stacks of spare tires
As Paul Hogan might say, “That’s not body roll; THAT’S body roll”:
It’s the Shell-Camino Team!
!!!CAPTION ERROR: MAY BE MULTI-LINE OR CONTAIN LINK!!!The folding ladder’s rungs read “student driver”
I wish accessing MY spark plugs was that easy
I have no idea how much these tires cost; do really I want to know?
Rides in the bed of the front-engined Shell-Camino consisted of sharp turns dancing around this island of mashed cars
The rear-mid-engined Shell-Camino did the honors of mashing them some more.
Some visitors opted to pay extra for VIP parking, putting their cars on display (think cars and coffee , but with ribs):
“Which Ford is best Ford?”
“My Ford is best Ford because...”
“...because NOS”
Bowtie buddies
And a mostly un-restored Biscayne with conspicuously inappropriate wheels
1967 ‘Vette, owned by a wonderful older couple. My camera does not do this beautiful car justice.
I meant to capture the red LEDs as they flashed across. I failed.
